Do you want to know how to get the Notion Personal Pro plan for free without having to pay anything?
Notion is a note-taking and productivity app that syncs content in real-time. It works across all devices, including web, macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS.
In this article, I'll show you how to get Notion for free by using Notion credits. You don't have to pay anything nor do you need to share your credit card details.
Is Notion Free to Use?
Notion is a free all-in-one workspace designed to let you manage your projects and create content. It’s genuinely free for anyone to use, and it’s also versatile and easy to use.

Notion offers a free personal plan with a 5MB file upload limit and 5 guest limit. For users that need more storage limit or more collaboration features, they offer paid plans such as Personal Pro, Team Plan, and Enterprise Plan.

The top three things I love about Notion: it's free (for everyone), really functional as an online workspace, and way less intimidating than other project management tools like Asana or Basecamp.
How Much Does Notion Cost Per Year?
Apart from the free plan, Notion also offers paid plans for personal and business use. The pricing for the Personal Pro plan starts at $5/month and it gives you unlimited storage files of any size and collaboration with unlimited guests. You can get the same Personal Pro plan for $4/month when you pay upfront for the whole year.
It also has a Team plan for businesses that cost $10/month/member. Just like the Personal Pro plan, you can get the team plan at $8/month/member when billed annually. That's a saving of $24/year/member.
The team plan includes all features of the Personal Pro and also gives you collaborative workspace sharing permission and admin tools.
Notion also has an Enterprise plan and you need to contact the sales team to get its pricing.

How To Get Notion Personal Pro for Free
Despite the fact that Notion Personal Pro is a paid plan, I'll show you exactly how to get Notion for free.
To get the Notion Personal Pro for free, you do not need to use any hacks. What I'm about to show you has been approved by Notion and works for everyone.
You can earn credits by completing simple tasks and can use those credits to get a free Notion Personal Pro Plan for up to 5 months. Isn't that awesome?
Let's first check what Notion Credits are before I show you how you can earn them.
What are Notion Credits?
Notion Credits are credits that you can use to purchase any of the Notion paid plans. There are multiple ways you can earn credit to get Notion for free. You can use it to buy the Personal Pro as well as the Team plan. You can also use them to purchase the yearly plan and pay the difference amount.
Notion also gives free credit if you are a startup and you can use it on a team plan. However, in this article, we are going to discuss how to use credit to buy the Notion Personal Pro plan.
6 Ways To Earn Free Notion Credits and Get Notion for Free
There are six ways to earn credits, and the amount of credit you earn depends on the task. You won't get the same amount of credit for every task.
To earn free Notion credits, log in to your account and navigate to Settings & Members in the sidebar.

On the new page, you'll notice different sections in the sidebar. When you click Earn Credits, you'll be presented with a list of tasks to complete in order to earn credits.

The tasks are simple, and you can earn up to $26 in credits or 5 months of the Personal Pro plan for free.

I have already completed some of the tasks and hence you see them in blue.
The list of tasks are:
- Log in on the web: If you have created the Notion account from a browser, you must have already earned credit for this task. If you haven't, all you have to do is log in to your Notion account from any browser to earn a $5 credit.
- Log in on the desktop app: Notion has an app for Windows and macOS. You can download the app from the Notion website and log in to it to earn additional $5 credit.
- Log in on the mobile app: Like the Desktop app, Notion also works on mobile devices including Andriod and iOS. You can download the app and log in to your account to earn $5 more credits.
- Import from Evernote: If you have been using Evernote for note-taking, you can import your notes into Notion and earn $5 more credits.
- Use the Web Clipper: Notion has a browser extension that lets you save any web page into Notion with just a few clicks. You can download it in your browser and save a link to earn $3 credits.
- Use the iOS or Android system share menu: After you have download Notion on your mobile phone, you can visit any of the page on any browser and use the system share menu to save the link in Notion. This will earn you more $3 credits.
Once you have collected all the credits, you can click on Upgrade for free at the top.

This will take you to the Notion pricing plans page. Here, you can switch to the monthly pricing and click on the Upgrade button under the Personal Pro plan.

It will take you to the checkout page where you need to enter the billing information and complete the payment using Notion credits to get it for free. To avoid paying anything, make sure the billing interval is set to monthly.

Is Notion Free for Students?
Notion has a free plan that's available for everyone regardless of if you are a student or any professional. You just need an email address to create a free account and use it to save unlimited amount of content.
I have been using Notion since November last year. When I found the credits section, I completed all the tasks and purchased the then-called personal pro plan.
I was just telling a friend about the same; she instantly asked me to set it up for her, only to be disappointed and find the section not listed anymore.
Has the process changed, or have they just removed it?
Hello Manas.
It appears that they have removed the free credit section from the app. I contacted the Notion team about this, but have yet to hear back. I’ll update this comment if I receive a response.
Unfortunately, I think they remove the credit option from the settings
Yes, they recently removed the credit options.
