Is It Even Possible To Change the Background Color of a Notion Page?

No. It is currently not possible to change the background color of a Notion page itself but you can change the color of individual blocks.  This gives your page a more appealing appearance rather than a strangely colored page that is harsh on the eyes.

You can also enable dark mode for the entire app that dims the background of the page.

How To Change Background Color in Notion

Notion works on a number of platforms (desktop/web, Android, and iOS), and the steps for changing the background color of blocks will vary slightly.

Let’s take a look at the steps for each platform in detail.

Change the Background Color in Notion on a Desktop/PC

The Notion desktop app’s interface is very similar to the web version. We’ll walk you through the steps for the desktop app on Windows, but they’ll be similar on MacOS or the web version.

The first step is to open the Notion app and go to the page where you want to change the color.

Once you are on the page, move your cursor to the block whose color you want to change. Do note that the option to apply background color is only available to all basic and inline blocks.

Once you put your cursor over the block, you will see a multi-dotted option. Click on it.

Hover the mouse over the dotted icon

When you click on that multi-dotted icon, a menu will appear on the screen where you need to navigate to the “Color” option.
