In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps of how to add GIF in Notion.
How To Add GIFs To Your Notion Workspace
There are a few different ways you could do this.
The first method is relatively easy. You can simply copy-paste the link of a GIF from any GIF source website like Giphy, or Tenor directly to your Notion workspace.
The other more reliable method is to embed the link of the GIF into an image block.
However, the best way to add GIF in Notion is to download the GIF to your hard drive, then upload it into an image block.
We’ll walk you through each of the three methods step-by-step.
Method 1: Copy-Pasting the Link
Firstly, go to any GIF source website and make sure you have your GIF ready.
For example, you go to Giphy and type “studying”.
You select a GIF.
Copy the link in the address bar.
Then, launch the Notion application from your desktop and go to the page where you want to add the GIF.
Paste the link on the page.
You will see a menu with three options appear on the screen.
Click on the “Create embed” option.
The GIF will be added to your workspace.
Method 2: Embedding Link Into an Image Block
Copy the link to the GIF from the address bar.
Click on the + sign and scroll down in the block insertor menu to the Media section.
Click on the “Image” block to add it to the page.
You can also use the block insertor shortcut by typing “/image” and pressing Enter.
Now, click on the “Embed link” option.
Paste the image link in the box and click on the “Embed image” button.
The GIF will be added to your workspace.
Method 3: Uploading From Desktop
To start, go ahead and download the GIF you want to use onto your drive. Once you have it saved, open up the Notion application on your desktop and navigate to the page where you want to add the GIF.
Click on the + sign.
Scroll down to the media section and click on the “Image” option. Alternatively, type “/image” and press Enter.
To upload your GIF file, go ahead and click on the “Upload” option. After that, you’ll want to click on the “Upload file” button. This should allow you to select the file you want to upload to Notion.
Go to the file location where you saved your GIF and select it. Click on the “Open” button.
The GIF will be added to your workspace.
Congratulations! You have successfully added a GIF to your Notion page.
This method is considered the best way to add a GIF to Notion since it won’t break even if the original URL breaks.
To delete the GIF, hover your cursor over the GIF.
In the top-right corner, you will see a three-dotted icon.
When you click on this three-dotted icon, a drop-down menu will appear on the screen.
Click the “Delete” option.
